Kroger Appoints New VP
Cincinnatti -- Van Tarver was promoted to vice president of Kroger Co.'s convenience store division, located in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Tarver is responsible for the company's five convenience store divisions, totaling 791 stores. Kroger's convenience store divisions are: Kwik Stop, Loaf'N Jug, Quik Stop, Tom Thumb and Turkey Hill Minit Markets. He also oversees fuel procurement and its Turkey Hill Dairy operations.
Tarver brings more than 35 years of experience in convenience stores and fuel management to this position, said Rodney McMullen, vice chairman of Kroger, "These segments are critical parts of our overall business and we look forward to Van's leadership as this important division continues to grow."
Tarver joined Kroger in 1997 as president of Quik Stop Markets, Inc. Before working for Kroger, he was the senior vice president of retail for Thrifty Oil Co.
