Kroger Opens First Smith's Express C-store
SUGAR HOUSE, Utah -- The Kroger Co.'s Smith's Food & Drug Stores supermarket chain opened its first Smith's Express gas station and convenience store concept here, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
A second location in Salt Lake City is set to open this month. Both locations were acquired from Sinclair Oil.
The Smith's Express locations will stock convenience items such as snacks, fountain beverages, tobacco products, ice, beer, auto needs, and top-selling grocery and non-food items. Customers can receive reward points for purchases, as well as accumulate fuel discounts and Earn & Learn credit for schools, according to the report.
Smith's operates 132 stores and 62 fuel centers in seven Western states, including 47 stores and 35 fuel centers in Utah.
