Kum & Go Appoints New Western Division VP

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC is hoping an Iowa Hawkeye can offer his bird’s-eye view as the newest member of the company's operations team.

The convenience store retailer named David Lemons its vice president of operations for its western division. With this promotion, Lemons will oversee operations -- including managing sales, safety protocol and talent development -- for 103 stores across five states.

Lemons joined Kum & Go in 2008 after owning and operating several retail stores. Most recently, he served the company as real estate development representative, where he had a lead role in building 24 Kum & Go convenience stores.

"As a former retail business owner, David brings extensive retail experience with expertise in operations and customer service," said CEO Kyle J. Krause. "He will add a fresh perspective to the operations team. We're very pleased to promote him into this new role."

Lemons is a Des Moines native and currently resides in West Des Moines. He holds a degree in marketing from the University of Iowa.

As CSNews Online previously reported, Kum & Go hired Marty Roush as vice president, operations for its south division, in March.

Roush, who received a marketing degree from Iowa State University, joined the company from Target Corp., and oversees operations at 158 Kum & Go c-stores in three states.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go LC is a family-owned business that operates more than 400 c-stores in Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming.
