Kum & Go Opens New Colorado Store

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go, operator of more than 430 convenience stores based here, opened a 3,400-square-foot store in Brighton, Colo., today, after taking a little more than five months to construct, the company stated.

"We are thrilled to offer a Kum & Go location for the residents of Brighton and surrounding areas," Kyle Krause, Kum & Go president and CEO, said in a statement. "We are excited to build new relationships with businesses and patrons within the community."

The new store -- which is the first for the area and the 27th in the state – builds on the company's commitment to developing environmentally friendly building and operating practices, and features heavily insulated glass, LED cooler door lights and energy-efficient coolers, the company stated. Its forecourt offers 12 conventional fueling stations that pump unleaded, unleaded plus, premium and diesel fuels. Inside the store, the new Kum & Go features Java Ridge Premium Coffee, Go Fresh Market Sandwiches, Nuclear energy drinks and Nutri2O nutraceutical waters, according to the company. In addition, the new location will feature a variety of the Kum & Go's proprietary Hiland brand potato chips, bottled water, cookies and candy, the company stated.

"We want Kum & Go to become Brighton's store of choice for coffee or pop in the morning, gas after work and all the stops in between," Krause said in a statement.

Kum & Go plans to continue its growth in Colorado with seven new stores scheduled to open later this year. Another store is slated for Brighton, and a new store will be built in Loveland, Conifer, Mead, Greeley, Granby and Debeque.
