Kum & Go's Summer Campaign Targets 'Snaxperts'

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC launched a summer campaign to attract what the convenience store retailer has dubbed "snaxperts" -- snacking experts whose two summer food groups are snack foods and fountain drinks.

The West Des Moines, Iowa-based chain's "Pair and Share" campaign began on June 1 and ends Aug. 31. It allows snaxperts to submit photos of their most imaginative snack food and beverage combinations on Facebook, or with hashtagged images on Twitter and Instagram.

Kum & Go customers can also collect $1 store coupons by completing a simple quiz to determine what type of snaxpert they are: Classic, Curious, Explorer, Pioneer or Supreme Master.

Submitted photos must follow one of eight themes, such as Road Trip, Poolside and Backyard BBQ. The customer with the top theme match, as selected by a panel of judges, will win a $500 Kum & Go gift card, with the runner-up receiving a $250 gift card. Overall, 16 winners will be named.

"Snaxperts are those who know Dr Pepper tastes even better when you use a Twizzler for a straw," said Kum & Go Senior Vice President of Marketing David Miller. "Snaxperts also have discovered the pleasure of chasing Reese's Peanut Butter Cups with orange soda. Snaxperts will pair a maple bacon doughnut with a Nuclear Energy drink just because they can."
