Kwik Trip Honored by Fundraising Association

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The Kwik Trip chain of convenience stores will be recognized by the Upper Mississippi Valley Chapter of the International Association of Fundraising Professionals on Wednesday, as part of the group's 22nd annual Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon, the Onalaska Life reported.

The ceremony is held each year in observance of National Philanthropy Day, the report stated. The event honors award recipients for sharing time, talents and treasure to make the region and world a better place, according to the report.

Kwik Trip will be honored with the Outstanding Philanthropic Organization award. The company executes a number of contribution programs, including:

-- Neighbors Helping Neighbors, which supports individuals and groups;

-- Youth Sports, which sponsors amateur youth teams;
Milk Moola and Donuts to Dough, which offer opportunities for school fundraising; and

-- Kwik Rewards, which allows Kwik Card holders to designate a local charity of their choice to receive 3 percent of their Kwik Card charges each quarter.

In addition, Kwik Trip has contributed in excess of $1.8 million to more than 80 organizations during the past three years, including donations of $250,000 to campaigns for the Boys & Girls Club, Franciscan Skemp, Gundersen Lutheran and the La Crosse Area YMCA, according to the Onalaska Life report.

Kwik Trip also sponsors events, makes in-kind donations and encourages employees to get involved in community voluntarism, the report stated.
