Love's Awards Scholarships to Employees

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores has awarded $40,000 in scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year to employees and their dependents through its Learning with Love's Scholarship Fund, according to a Tire Business report.

Those attending college full-time received $4,000 scholarships, while part-time students received $2,000 each. Five employees were given scholarships this year: Steven Brazil from Love's in Albuquerque, N.M.; Sarah Aisha Naji from Love's in Rolla, Mo.; Stephanie Magana from Love's in Yuma, Ariz.; Mary Anne Miller, risk management analyst; and John Mark Dadulo, accounting clerk, according to the report. An additional seven dependents received scholarships: Garrison Lawrence; Anthony Drakeford; Michael Waltman; Haley Withers; Andrew Dixon; Jacob Stepec; and Lee Ann Sturm.

Love's established the scholarship fund in 1999 through the Love family's contribution of property, according to the report. The fund is administered by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, which makes the final selection of the winners and disburses the Love Family Affiliated Fund-provided money.
