Love's Donates $500,000 to Hurricane Relief Efforts

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores contributed $500,000 to Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita Relief efforts. The money will be donated to the United Way, specifically in Gulfport, Miss., and Baton Rouge and Lake Charles, La.

Much of this donation is part of a match that Oklahoma City-based Love’s decided to do in conjunction with its annual campaign for Children’s Miracle Network. This fundraising campaign was underway when Hurricane Katrina hit. The stores raised $300,000 during the month of September.

Tom Love, CEO of Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores, said, "I am proud to contribute to the relief efforts in the Gulf Coast area. We learned of the devastation partly through the eyes of our store teams in Gulfport, west Baton Rouge and Lake Charles. They experienced their own personal losses and despite that, did an extraordinary job taking care of their own customers. To make this contribution while still being able to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Networks is doubly satisfying."

Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores has more than 175 travel stops and c-stores in a 27-state area.
