Lykins Moves Into Electricity Business

MILFORD, Ohio -- The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio certified Lykins Energy Solutions as a competitive retail electric service provider, making the company a certified supplier of electricity for all customer classes in the state for aggregation, power marketer and power broker of services.

Along with brokering electricity and natural gas, Lykins has been consulting with commercial and industrial customers on strategies for energy-cost minimization for the past two years. The Milford-based company now adds electricity supply to its suite of energy-related services.

"This is another new service Lykins Energy Solutions can provide customers. This will give our current and future residential and commercial customers another option for their electric supply and another means by which we can help minimize energy costs," said Lykins Energy Solutions President and CEO Jeff Lykins.

Customer enrollment for electricity supplied directly by Lykins Energy Solutions will begin in September.

Lykins Energy Solutions, which changed its name from Lykins Oil Co. in January, is one of the top 10 largest petroleum marketing companies in Ohio. Key services it provides include branded fuels; wholesale fuels; commercial, transportation and home heating oil; propane; lubricants; electricity and natural gas.

Lykins Energy Solutions currently serves customers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, as well as throughout the Midwest and the Southeast United States. The company represents six major fuel brands that it sells to independent gas dealers: BP, Marathon, ExxonMobil, Shell, Gulf and Clark.
