MAPCO Express Moves Forward With New Executive Team

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Fresh off its acquisition by Chile-based Compania de Petroleos de Chile (COPEC), MAPCO Express is preparing for the future with an executive team in place.

According to MAPCO, the retailer and COPEC's company values are strongly aligned, making MAPCO a perfect fit for COPEC. Part of MAPCO's commitment to being a people-first organization was to fill many of the open positions created as a result of MAPCO becoming a standalone company.

The leadership team looked internally to fill these roles with current dedicated MAPCO employees, leading to the promotion of 12 individuals that will deliver on MAPCO's new vision to be the "Best Team Delivering the Best Experience."

Taking the reigns as CEO is Andy Scoggins, with Dave DeSerio taking the position of chief operations officer.

"People are our passion and they are the core foundation of our business. MAPCO looks forward to the future of building a people-centric community with COPEC," Scoggins said. "It will be a journey, but it starts with the first step and today we are making that first step together."

The other key roles are:

  • Michael Martin — vice president of human resources
  • Kevin Brunger — vice president of information and technology
  • Jud Roper — vice president of accounting and finance
  • Alexandra Dalton — director of training and development
  • Damian Wyatt — director of category management
  • Daniel Pritchett — senior accounting manager
  • Elliot Swimmer — IT services manager
  • Tony Baker — accounting manager
  • Rob Chapman — manager of PCI security
  • Brent Eubanks — manager of fuel supply

The new lineup comes on the heels of COPEC's $535-million deal with Delek US Holdings Inc. for Brentwood-based MAPCO Express. The acquisition gave COPEC entry into the U.S. convenience store market, as CSNews Online previously reported.

MAPCO has 348 corporate-owned convenience stores operating primarily in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia with additional presence in Arkansas, Virginia, Kentucky, and Mississippi. It operates company stores under the banners MAPCO Express, MAPCO Mart, East Coast, Fast Food and Fuel, Favorite Markets, Delta Express, and Discount Food Mart.

COPEC is one of the largest companies in Chile, operating in fuel and lubricants distribution and convenience stores. COPEC has an existing presence in convenience stores with the largest convenience store network in Chile and approximately 53 percent of Chilean gasoline market share with 626 company- and dealer-operated service stations, 82 Pronto-branded convenience stores and 220 Punto-branded convenience stores.
