McLane Co. and Enmark Stations Extend Distribution Agreement

TEMPLE, Texas -- McLane Co. extended its service agreement for an additional three years with Enmark Stations, Inc., the Savannah, Ga.-based subsidiary of Colonial Group Inc., the 47th largest private company in the nation, as ranked by Forbes magazine. Enmark Stations (formerly Interstate Stations) began operations in 1963. The Enmark brand was developed in the late 1980's and currently operates more than 76 stores in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

"McLane has contributed to our business success with their excellent service, beneficial category management information and low cost of goods," Jim Mercer, vice president and general manager of Enmark Stations, said in a written statement. "Their knowledge of logistics and focus on the customer has helped us grow our business. Extending the service agreement with McLane will help us continue our success in meeting the needs of our customers and expanding our business."

Enmark's parent, Colonial Group, holds extensive ownership in oil and gas related companies. Enmark began operation in 1963 as Interstate Stations and were branded as Enmark in the late 1980's. Enmark is a sponsor of the Shields for Fallen Heroes Campaign throughout coastal Georgia and South Carolina.

McLane Co. provides distribution services throughout the United States, delivering food and non-food products to more than 50,000 customer locations, including the convenience store, drug store, mass merchandise, quick service restaurant and movie theater industries. Headquartered in Temple, Texas, the company operates 19 grocery distribution divisions and 18 foodservice distribution centers as well as an industry specific software company.
