Mobil Travel Guide Expands Road Traveler Program

CHICAGO -- Mobil Travel Guide is expanding its travel services on www.mobiltravelguide.com with all the tools necessary to plan a successful road trip. The new site brings driving directions to life by identifying things to do with places to stay and dine along a planned travel route. The upgraded Web site is designed to empower travelers by providing unbiased information, along with the convenience of booking hotels and resorts in 4,500 cities across North America.

The new travel-site tools feature marketplace rates at more than 33,000 hotels in the United States and Canada and "Web-only" rates at more than 12,000 properties. Nearly one-third of the hotels and resorts come with Star recommendations from Mobil Travel Guide. Travelers can also review Mobil Travel Guide ratings for more than 8,000 restaurants as part of the trip-planning process.

At www.mobiltravelguide.com, visitors have an option to pay for a room in a "buy now" deal or reserve a room at a marketplace rate. Travelers can also sort their selections and hotel options by Mobil Star rating; distance from an address, airport or point of interest; or go right to a specific hotel.

"An enhanced Web site offering search capabilities, mapping, hotel bookings and our trustworthy Star rating system is a logical extension of Mobil Travel Guide's 46-year history in travel publishing," said Larry Dustin, president of Mobil Travel Guide. "Travelers are increasingly using the Internet to plan trips and this new tool allows us to be responsive to the needs of road-centric travelers."

Unlike other online travel services, Mobil Travel Guide is focused on road travelers, offering specific features that take the guesswork out of planning a road trip.
