MoneyGram Expands Relationship With Speedway

DALLAS -- Speedway LLC has expanded its relationship with global money transfer company MoneyGram. Under the terms of the new agreement, Speedway will add the Moneygram xpress service to its 1,460 stores across the Midwest and continue to sell MoneyGram money orders.

MoneyGram xpress allows customers to purchase in-lane a prepaid money transfer package in a predetermined and defined dollar amount. The package can be redeemed online at www.moneygram.com/xpress or by phone at (800) 987-9859 to complete the money transfer. Recipients of transfers originated via the MoneyGram xpress service can pick up their funds at any MoneyGram agent location that offers money transfer services, the company stated.

"Customers want flexible, convenient and reliable ways to send money," said Rick Byrne, MoneyGram's vice president of strategic accounts. "Adding MoneyGram xpress to Speedway's existing MoneyGram services gives customers the option to quickly purchase money transfers and avoid waiting in line or filling out forms at the point of sale."

MoneyGram xpress packages are available in $50, $100, and $200 increments that carry fixed transfer fees of $5.95, $10.95, and $11.95, respectively.

"Our customers place a high value on choice and fast service," said Grant Heminger, vice president, marketing for Speedway. "We continue to rely on MoneyGram to help us meet our customers' need for quick and convenient financial products. The MoneyGram xpress service will allow our two million customers per day to send money to family and friends without waiting in lines or filling out forms. The MoneyGram xpress program is also quick and easy for our associates to use." Speedway, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Corp. based in Enon, Ohio, operates approximately 1,460 locations in seven states in the Midwest.
