New Fountain Promotions Are Flowing at C-store Chains

NATIONAL REPORT — Now that spring has sprung and summer draws near, convenience store chains across the country are launching new fountain drink promotions to help thirsty customers beat the heat. Here's what's in store:

RaceTrac Petroleum Inc.

RaceTrac is bringing back Sodapalooza for another season of FreeFill-charged fun with unlimited fountain and NumbSkull frozen drink refills for the entire summer. Starting May 3, customers can purchase a 2017 Sodapalooza cup for $11.99 and then receive free refill of fountain and frozen beverages through July 31.

RaceTrac Rewards members, social media followers and RaceTrac Insiders had the chance to visit RaceTrac during VIP Week (April 26-May 2) to get a Sodapalooza cup one week early.

Those who download the free RaceTrac Rewards mobile app will receive a coupon for $2 off a Sodapalooza cup purchase.

"Sodapalooza at RaceTrac is the official kick off to summer for our loyal TracFanatics and we're excited to celebrate again this year," said Melanie Isbill, executive director of marketing at RaceTrac. "With the infamous southern heat already on its way, our guests are looking forward to staying cool the best way possible — with Sodapalooza and FreeFills all summer long."

Each Sodapalooza cup includes between $30 and $150 in exclusive coupons, depending on the location, for RaceTrac food and fun experiences unique to the area.

Atlanta-based RaceTrac operates more than 450 c-stores in Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Texas.

Allsup's

The new Texan Rider spirit logo for Tarleton State University now appears on large drink cups at Allsup's Convenience Stores, reported The Flash Today. The 30-ounce cups are available with an initial free fountain drink at locations in Stephenville, Dublin, DeLeon and Comanche, Texas.

Allsup's produced a total of 50,000 cups for distribution and is promoting them on special racks. The Texan Rider spirit logo debuted in January 2017.

Clovis, N.M.-based Allsup's has more than 300 stores.

Kum & Go LC

Kum & Go is bringing back its any size drink for just $1 this summer. Customers can choose from up to 30 different flavors for one price. Additionally, this year, every seventh fountain drink or Koolee that members of the chain's &Rewards program purchase will be free.

Along with popular carbonated soft drinks, many Kum & Go stores also feature SoBe Lifewater, vitaminwater and POWERADE at the fountain. Fresh-brewed tea is also part of the summer promotion.
