No Support for Federal Below-Cost Legislation
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- After deliberating throughout the evening, the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) has decided not endorse federal below-cost sales legislation on fuel.
Meeting at the NACS Leadership Assembly in Scottsdale, members of the association's Government Relations Board concluded that additional government intervention in the form of below-cost legislation would not be good for the industry.
However, after receiving input from its Motor Fuels Committee, NACS said it would not oppose a federal below-cost bill if one were introduced.
NACS has scheduled a news conference to elaborate on its decision this afternoon. CSNews Online will provide updates as they become available.
