The Pantry CFO Resigns

SANFORD, N.C. -- The Pantry Inc., operator of 1,625 convenience stores in the southeastern U.S., will lose its chief financial officer, Daniel J. Kelly, as he has decided to resign from his positions at the company, which also include his role as the vice president of finance and secretary.

"It was a difficult decision, but for personal and health reasons and a desire to spend more time with my family, I decided to reduce my professional commitments," Kelly said in a written statement.

Kelly will be available until Nov. 30 to usher in a new CFO and ensure a smooth transition.

"We appreciate Dan's financial leadership during his tenure with us and I have enjoyed working with him," said Peter J. Sodini, chairman and CEO of The Pantry. "We now undertake a search for a new CFO...We thank him for his service and look forward to continuing to work with him in this process."
