The Pantry Partners With Easter Seals

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Convenience store chain The Pantry Inc. signed on to sponsor the Easter Seals UCP North Carolina & Virginia fundraising event, Walk With Me, a signature event the agency hosts across North Carolina and Virginia, the company reported.

"The Pantry and its employees are delighted to be part of the amazing work of the Easter Seals UCP Walk With Me program," Jim Semotan, vice president of Human Resources for The Pantry, said in a released statement. "Thank you for the terrific job you do helping children and adults with disabilities."

Easter Seals UCP expects more than 2,500 participants to register for the upcoming Walk With Me events in North Carolina and Virginia, and each participant will be paired with an honorary ambassador, a child or adult currently receiving services from Easter Seals UCP. On Walk day, participants are able to walk alongside their honorary ambassador, according to the company.

"We are thrilled to have The Pantry as a leading sponsor of our Walk
With Me events," stated Bob Frazier, chief development officer for
Easter Seals UCP. "Walk With Me provides an opportunity for community members to honor individuals and families we serve while learning more about the programs Easter Seals UCP provides. The support of businesses like The Pantry helps our shared communities become better, more welcoming areas for children and adults with disabilities."

The six Walk With Me events are expected to raise almost $300,000 to support the programs and services of Easter Seals UCP. Walks will be held in Charlotte, N.C.; Greensboro, N.C.; Raleigh, N.C.; Wilmington, N.C.; Richmond, Va. and Salem, Va.
