Parker's Charts Expansion Plan for Home State

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Residents in Statesboro, Ga. will soon have more convenience store options with the opening of a new Parker's convenience store in mid-July.

The store will occupy a former Neighbor's convenience store on Highway 80. It will be the first privately owned Parker's store in Statesboro, but not the last. According to the Statesboro Herald, President and CEO Greg Parker said he envisions opening five more independent locations in Statesboro over the next several years.

"Statesboro is a dynamic market, and I have looked at locations here for the last several years," he said. "I think this location next to Lowe's [Home Improvement] is a home run, and I can't wait to bring the true Parker's experience to Statesboro. We try to make the entire shopping experience at Parker's feel safe, fresh and friendly -- from the moment you drive up in your car until you walk out of the store. We're very aware of the importance of the speed of transactions and always have the cleanest restrooms in town. We're committed to quality in everything we do."

The company's "Fueling the Community" program will also be expanded to benefit Statesboro public schools.

"The first Wednesday of every month, a penny on the dollar of each gallon of gas purchased in Statesboro goes to the local school system," Parker said. "When you use your Parker's debit card to purchase gas, you can designate your Bulloch County school of choice."

Savannah, Ga.-based Parker's Cos. operates 30 convenience stores in southeast Georgia and South Carolina.
