Parker's Just Keeps Growing
SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Parker Cos. expanded its district manager team by hiring Wayne Reed, who will oversee the six Parker's convenience stores in Beaufort County, South Carolina.
"We are excited to welcome Wayne to the Parker's family," said Parker Cos. President and CEO Greg Parker. "He brings a tremendous wealth of experience to our company as we expand our team of district managers to oversee our growing number of stores."
Reed previously spent 12 years with The Pantry Inc., where he served as a district manager and oversaw 12 travel centers. He also worked with E-Z Convenience Stores.
Prior to working with The Pantry, Reed worked with AIM and Castforce, companies that help connect independent retail merchandisers to America's leading retailers, and assisted with planogram strategies for displaying products at major national chains such as Walmart, CVS, Office Depot and Winn-Dixie, according to a Parker's announcement.
Prior to entering the convenience industry, Reed served in the U.S. Army, where he rose to First Sergeant. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Tampa College.
Parker's also marked its continued growth with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at two new stores. On July 8, a ceremony was held at the new multimillion-dollar Parker's store at 1705 Ribaut Ave. in Port Royal, S.C. The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event, which marked the opening of the sixth Parker's store in Beaufort County.
A second ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on July 10 to mark the opening of the Parker's store at 1588 Brampton Ave. in Statesboro, Ga. This new location features a drive-thru. The Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce sponsored this event.
Greg Parker and local officials were in attendance at both ceremonies.
Parker's now operates 36 convenience stores in southeast Georgia and South Carolina.
