PCATS Appoints New Secretary

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) appointed Kraig Adams, director of collaborative customer capabilities for The Coca-Cola Co., to serve as secretary of the PCATS board of directors. Adams also serves as vice-chairman of the PCATS Membership & Marketing Committee, the alliance reported.

Adams will serve out the remainder of the existing term of Ann Dozier, vice president of collaborative customer capabilities of The Coca-Cola Co., who served as PCATS secretary for the past three years.

"Kraig has been a tremendous asset to the organization over the years, so this step enables us to tap even more significantly into his strengths," said PCATS executive director and CEO, Thomas R. Oare. "We value Coca-Cola’s continued commitment to PCATS. Ann has been a member of the board since its inception, and she has generously contributed her time and effort to advance the PCATS mission. We will miss her contribution to the board."

Among his duties as secretary, Adams is responsible for ensuring minutes are kept of the proceedings of the board, committees of the board, any other committees of the alliance and any meeting of the members; ensuring that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of the bylaws or as required by law; being custodian of corporate records and of the seal of the alliance; serving as the chair of the Governance Committee; and in general, performing all duties incident to the office of secretary, the alliance reported.

"The Coca-Cola Co. is committed to PCATS and will continue to play an active role in the implementation of PCATS standards and in developing future strategies," Adams stated in assuming his new duties on the board.

In addition to PCATS, Adams is an active leader involved with many industry initiatives, workgroups and organizations within GS1, GS1 US, GS1 Canada, Global Standards Management Process (GSMP), Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) User Group, Global Commerce Initiative (GCI), and the Grocery Manufacturers of America (GMA).
