PDI Acquires Three Software Companies

TEMPLE, Texas — PDI is expanding its global reach with the acquisition of three privately owned companies: DataMax Group Inc., LOMOSOFT and FireStream WorldWide Inc.

With the move, the company will accelerate its growth and boost its footprint into six continents. Temple-based PDI is a provider of enterprise-class software solutions to the convenience retail and wholesale petroleum industries.

According to the company, the addition of DataMax and LOMOSOFT is consistent with the PDI's strategy to grow internationally and provide customers with a single, integrated solution in the countries they serve. The broadening of PDI's solution portfolio will enable operators, regardless of operating model or size, to take advantage of its software portfolio, and delivery and service.

In addition, PDI will also strengthen and broaden its software solutions portfolio with the addition of a comprehensive and full fuel wholesale offering, including supply chain and logistics management.

The news comes as PDI wrapped up a record year of growth in 2016 — driven by a combination of new software customers, strategic acquisitions and add-on product adoption among its existing customer base.

"PDI is investing in a global footprint to expand its market reach. We are well-positioned to continue to lead the industry as well as better serve multi-country operators, various operating models such as dealer, franchisee, and corporate, and going further up the fuel supply chain," said CEO Jimmy Frangis.

"We feel the complementary nature of these businesses brings tremendous benefits to our existing client and employee base. We are excited to add DataMax, LOMOSOFT and FireStream, and their innovative software technologies and expertise to PDI as we continue to invest and execute upon our strategy. As always, our highest priority is serving our customers and creating solutions that will help transform their business and the industry," he added.

As the company pointed out, PDI "will now be able to provide a seamless and scalable experience across the fuel supply chain, both upstream and downstream." It will also add portfolio offerings from FireStream focused on wholesale/logistics with supply chain planning and mobile computing.

DataMax Group, based in Round Rock, has established operations and customers with more than 30,000 sites in 50-plus countries. It provides convenience store back-office software and services for retail fuel stores including major oil companies. Their scalable software makes it easy for both multi- and single-store operators to improve control and manage operations more efficiently, according to PDI.

Based in Germany, LOMOSOFT provides secondary fuel distribution customers with more than 27 years of deep logistics and carrier industry network expertise. It expands PDI's footprint into Europe to 38 countries and adds logistics capability to PDI's portfolio of offerings in the area of wholesale logistics and fuel supply chain.

Chesterfield, Mo.-based FireStream WorldWide focuses on wholesale petroleum companies, serving more than 170 clients selling more than 20 billion gallons of fuel per year. It is a provider of end-to-end software for downstream and midstream jobbers, lubricant suppliers and propane marketers.
