YORK and ALTOONA, Pa., and PEMBERTON, N.J. – Rutter’s, the York, Pa.-based c-store chain unwrapped an early Christmas present for Hanover, Pa., area residents with the opening on of its newest store on Christmas Eve.
The new store, based on the company’s new foodservice prototype, replaces a nearby Rutter’s at 891 York St. in Hanover. The chain also has two other Hanover stores.
Meanwhile, Wawa celebrated the opening of a new store on Arney’s Mount Road in Pemberton, N.J. To mark the opening of the new store, Wawa hosted a military-inspired "Hoagies for Heroes" grand opening celebration, complete with a hoagie building boot camp and hoagie building contest between the Mobilization Readiness Battalion and the Army Non-Commissioned Officer Academy from nearby Fort Dix Military Base.
Altoona-based Sheetz provided free coffee on Christmas Day, and will do so again on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Customers who stop at any of Sheetz 352 locations can get a cup of premium 100 percent Arabica bean self-serve coffee for free. The special ran for 24 hours beginning 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 25, then again from 4 p.m. Dec. 31, through 4 p.m. Jan. 1.
