Pic-n-Pac to Rebrand Four Stores to VP Banner

MCQUEENY, Texas — Wuest’s Inc. will rebrand four of its convenience stores to the VP Racing Fuels banner. All of the stores are located in Texas, with two locations in Seguin, one in McQueeny and one in Lockhart.

“VP has the look of a major brand with its attractive, professional image, but offers the chance to buy unbranded supply to compete more effectively with grocery chains, super chains and major brands,” said Phil Wuest, director of operations for Wuest’s. “Another driving factor for us was the substantial savings we expect from VP’s low credit card processing fees and elimination of monthly network fees, plus we’ll generate new revenue streams from VP’s race fuels, additives and apparel. All these products appeal to race fans and gearheads who are drawn to VP because of its reputation in racing.”

VP’s program gives Wuest’s more control over its business and facilities, without anyone dictating or assessing penalties for noncompliance, noted Wuest. “It was also important to us to have an appealing brand to offer as a jobber to other retailers,” he said.

Alan Cerwick, president of VP Racing Fuels Inc., stated his company is pleased to welcome Wuest’s as a retail branding partner.

“The team at Wuest’s is savvy and innovative, and they recognized the advantages that VP’s program could bring to their business,” he said. “Wuest’s Pic-n-Pac stores are truly quality sites and we look forward to working together with them as they plant the VP flag right here in south Texas.”

San Antonio-based VP Racing Fuels Inc. is celebrating its 40th anniversary. As part of a retail branding program, gas stations and convenience stores throughout the country are branded as VP Racing Fuels, with each providing distribution for VP’s other product lines.

McQueeny-based Wuest’s Inc., founded in 1964, operates 15 Pic-and-Pac stores and services two other retail locations in the San Antonio area.
