Pilot Flying J Buys Minnesota Travel Center

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Pilot Flying J acquired a travel plaza in Northfield, Minn., and will remodel the location to feature several modern amenities.

Located at 8051 Bagley Ave., near Interstate 35, the new Flying J Travel Plaza will have three gasoline islands and seven diesel lanes, as well as diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at the pump. The location also will feature high-speed fuel pumps and plenty of convenience store items.

More specifically, the travel stop will include a Subway restaurant, hot foods, deli, clean restrooms, pay phones, fax and copy services, Western Union, ATM and more.

"We hope that Northfield-area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our new Flying J Travel Plaza," said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J, based in Knoxville. "As the driver-driven company, we are proud that this travel plaza will serve the community through products and services, as well as contribute to the local economy through jobs and tax revenue. And, we'll fill the needs of those carrying goods to communities across the nation."

The Northfield travel plaza, situated 44 miles south of Minneapolis, will remain open during renovations.

There are more than 550 U.S. and Canadian travel centers in the Pilot Flying J network.
