Pilot Flying J Overhauls WiFi System
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Referring to its prior network as a “joke,” Pilot Flying J revamped its WiFi offering to customers.
“Our old WiFi was a joke. Only no one was laughing,” the Knoxville-based travel center operator posted on its website, with this statement flanked by apparent customer Twitter posts related to the WiFi offering.
In a statement, Pilot Flying J assured that its newly revamped WiFi is a much better offering, which took “millions of dollars and thousands of man hours” to complete.
To prove the new WiFi network is a superior product, Pilot Flying J is encouraging customers to enjoy a 10-day free trial, which expires June 30. Customers must be Pilot Flying J loyalty members to receive the free trial.
Once the trial is over, customers can purchase WiFi plans ranging from $3.99 for four hours, up to $99.99 for one year. The pricing only pertains to when professional drivers leave a Pilot Flying J travel center. WiFi is available for free while inside Pilot Flying J facilities.
Pilot Flying J operates more than 650 locations throughout North America.
