Pilot Flying J Reopens El Paso Travel Plaza
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Pilot Flying J reopened its Flying J Travel Plaza in El Paso, Texas. The remodeled facility, located at 1301 North Horizon Blvd., features amenities to service both professional drivers and the motoring public.
"We hope that El Paso-area residents and fleet customers will enjoy the convenience and amenities of our newly remodeled Flying J Travel Plaza," said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Flying J. "The plaza will serve this community through products and services, as well as contribute to the local economy through jobs and tax revenue. And, we'll fill the needs of those carrying goods to communities across the nation."
The 13,971-square-foot travel plaza features six fuel islands and 12 diesel islands. The fuel area has been equipped with high-speed fuel pumps for faster flow.
Other amenities include restrooms, pay phones, fax and copy services, a Western Union, a UPS drop box, an ATM, check-cashing services, lottery ticket sales, an arcade, an RV dump station, bulk propane sales and general merchandise for professional drivers and highway travelers.
"We believe our familiar Flying J sign will be a welcome sight for interstate travelers and professional drivers. They'll want to pull off to fill up, refresh and sample some of our featured food items," said Raul Sierra, general manager of the El Paso location. "Our premium hot beverages include gourmet specialty coffees from all over the world, as well as Pilot's house coffee, which was named the 'Best Coffee on the Interstate' by the readers of Truckers News. We also have a variety of fountain drinks, fresh brewed tea, iced coffees and frozen drinks."
Hungry travelers can visit the Denny's restaurant or choose from a full hot and cold deli that offers fresh-made salads, double bacon cheeseburgers, Pepperoni's handmade Italian pizza and Oscar Mayer hot dogs along with fresh cold condiments for grill items.
Professional drivers will be able to take advantage of services targeted specifically to them, including a CAT scale, laundry services, 11 automated showers and 120 parking spaces for trucks, as well as a driver kiosk that lets professional drivers stop in and quickly get back on the road.
The reopened location also honors the new Frequent Fueler Advantage Card and will honor points previously accumulated on the Frequent Fueler, RV Real Value and Driver Payback cards, the company said.
