PRI Establishes "September 11 Fund"
In a gesture aimed at aiding the relief efforts in New York City, Washington and Pennsylvania, PerformanceRetail Inc. joined the growing number of companies throughout the United States to begin collecting money to benefit the American Red Cross.
PRI, a provider of Web-architected software applications, said it has established the "September 11 Fund," a fund-raising initiative that will run for the next 30 day.
The initiative encourages all employees to give to the campaign at any level in which they feel comfortable. At the end of the 30-day period, PRI will match the monetary donations, and then provide a check to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for the full amount.
"The events of last week were absolutely the most horrific imaginable, leaving thousands of people and their families in need of uncompromising support," said Gregg Burt, president and CEO of the technology firm. "Although our company resources may be small today, we do have a big heart, and every bit we can raise will certainly go a long way toward helping the victims, survivors and those assisting in the rescue efforts."
