QuikTrip to Build New, Larger Tulsa Distribution Center
TULSA, Okla. — QuikTrip Corp. has plans for growth for the convenience store chain's QT Kitchens.
As Tulsa World reported, the c-store operator plans to build a 250,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility in north Tulsa at 3101 N. Garnett Road. The new facility will accommodate growth of the convenience store chain's QT Kitchens foodservice concept, along with other aspects of the business.
QuikTrip has an existing manufacturing and distribution facility in the area near U.S. 169 and 51st Street that it has outgrown, according to spokesman Mike Thornbrugh. The planned site would be one of five, along with locations in the Dallas, Kansas City, Phoenix and Atlanta markets.
As part of QuikTrip's long-term plans, the new facility will allow the company to expand its commissary and distribution workforce. It would also put QuikTrip Signs and Fulfillment, QuikTrip's sign company, under the same roof.
Thornbrugh stated that the facility would employ approximately 125 people, up from around 65 who work at the existing site.
QuikTrip's financial investment in the facility would be "tens of millions of dollars," Thornbrugh told the news outlet.
Tulsa-based QuikTrip operates more than 700 convenience stores in 11 states.
