QuikTrip Stores to House Amazon Lockers
TULSA, Okla. — QuikTrip Corp. is the latest convenience store chain to add Amazon Lockers to its offerings. The company plans to install the lockers at locations in Missouri and Kansas, and has already installed them in markets such as Charlotte, N.C., according to media reports.
Through the service, Amazon customers can arrange to have online orders from retailers delivered to lockers at any of its available locations. Customers open the locker by scanning bar codes sent over email to their smartphones.
7-Eleven began testing Amazon Lockers in 2011, and Plaid Pantries installed more than 70 of the lockers at its c-stores throughout Portland earlier this year, CSNews Online previously reported.
Amazon Lockers are located in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Ore., San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle, as well as in Delaware, New Jersey and Virginia.
Tulsa-based QuikTrip operates more than 700 convenience stores in 11 states.
