Ricker’s New TV Campaign to Premiere During Winter Olympics
INDIANAPOLIS -- Ricker's Convenience Stores will hit the airwaves next month with its second installment of television ads. The new spots will appear during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics from Feb. 6-23 on WTHR Channel 13, the local Indianapolis affiliate.
Ricker's TV campaign premiered during the London 2012 Summer Olympics. The retailer's initial focus was on its Ricker's Rewards program, which saves members up to 10 cents per gallon. As a result of that campaign, more than 60,000 Hoosiers are now signed up for Ricker's Rewards, according to the retailer.
This time, Ricker's is expanding its focus to include in-store offers using the “Get Pumped!” concept.
The new commercials were created by local advertising agency Three Sixty Group and use the same “Get Pumped!” character to introduce several new Ricker's products. While some of the spots feature Ricker's freshly baked square doughnuts and gourmet cookies, others highlight Ricker’s coffee and its famous RickerPop fountain drinks.
“After our first campaign, we realized the power of television and the importance of associating the ‘Get Pumped!’ character with our brand,” said President and CEO Quinn Ricker. “No other convenience store in America, as best we know, is currently doing this.”
In addition to the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics television campaign, Ricker’s is now an official partner of the Indiana Pacers. Its locally roasted gourmet coffee also has been named the official coffee of "The Bob & Tom Show," a local radio program, as CSNews Online previously reported.
“Like many of our marketing and media partners, we’re homegrown, and making our brand more visible is one way we can help our customers save more money on gas while offering them high-quality products and the best convenience store experience possible,” Ricker concluded.
Anderson, Ind.-based Ricker's Convenience Stores is a division of Ricker Oil Co. Inc. and operates 50 locations.
