R.J. Reynolds Offering Email Alerts by State
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.'s (RJR) non-corporate website, www.transformtobacco.com, recently made several new upgrades, including a state-by-state email alert system.
As CSNews Online previously reported, the website relaunched in February with a new name, structure and content that reflect RJR's strategic framework around three key transformations: tobacco harm reduction, commercial integrity and youth tobacco prevention.
To keep wholesalers and retailers informed of the latest news, the website now has an email alert feature that allows individuals to sign up to receive electronic notifications any time an alert is issued for their state.
“This new feature will make it much easier for people to stay informed and take action on tobacco-related issues that affect them,” said Bryan Hatchell, director of communications for RJR. “We are continuously searching for ways to transform the tobacco industry, and making it easier for people’s voices to be heard will certainly help achieve that goal.”
In addition, Transformtobacco.com is now compatible with mobile devices and features fully updated content on tobacco issues, an interactive state-by-state map with key information, and links to the website's Facebook and Twitter companion sites.
The website also makes it easy for visitors to connect with their elected officials via a toll-free number, by email (determined by ZIP code), and with steps for ongoing relationship-building, according to the company.
R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., an indirect subsidiary of Reynolds American Inc., is the second-largest tobacco company in the United States.
