Rutter's Donates $17,000 to York County Program
YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores recently raised more than $17,000 for York's Newspapers in Education program based here.
The funds were raised by donating five cents from every hot beverage sold in Rutter's York county c-stores from Oct. 4-31, the company stated. Rutter's CEO and president, Scott Hartman and director of marketing Robert Perkins presented George Sepic, vice president of York Newspaper Co., with the check.
The Newspapers in Education program provides newspapers and curriculum materials to teachers and students in all 16 public school districts within the county. Since 2004, Rutter's and its customers have contributed $118,000 to the program, according to the company.
York-based Rutter's operates 56 c-stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
