Safeway Aids Damage-Control Efforts
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Safeway Food & Drug has established a method to make it easy and convenient for Arizona residents to make a contribution to the Salvation Army to assist them in their efforts with the Rodeo fire.
Cash donations can be made at the checkstands of any of the Safeway stores located in Arizona. Safeway contributed $5,000 in cash to this fund along with water and other food items to the firefighters.
"We are thankful for Safeway's generous donation and their concern for those affected by the fire," said Col. Don Mowery, divisional commander for the Salvation Army. "Their partnership will help us provide shelter, food and comfort for those weary from battling the blaze."
Safeway operates 1,782 stores in the United States and Canada, with 107 stores in Arizona.
