Sheetz Fuels Up Consumers With Free Coffee
ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc. is so excited about its new premium coffee that the chain is giving it away for free with any purchase of Sheetz gasoline. Starting this past Monday until Dec. 24, customers can enjoy any size cup of Sheetz's new self-serve coffees made from 100 percent Arabica beans for free with any gas purchase at the 307 participating Sheetz locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
Sheetz now offers a wide array of new, premium blends to satisfy the expanding tastes of today's coffee drinker. These new blends are made from 100 percent Arabica beans -- the highest quality coffee beans available -- and brewed fresh in the stores 24 hours a day.
The famous Sheetz House Blend coffee has not changed and continues to offer the same great taste customers have always loved, but now there are other new choices for those who desire something more. Sheetz Breakfast Blend, Serious Dark Roast, 100 percent Columbian and Vanilla Nut Cream have all been added to the menu, giving Sheetz the widest variety of fresh coffees anywhere, according to the chain.
Coffee drinking in the U.S. is on the rise. According to the National Coffee Association's National Coffee Drinking Trends 2006, roughly 82 percent of adult Americans say they drink coffee, the largest portion in many years. The number of people who drink coffee every day also increased from 53 percent to 56 percent in 2006. These statistics, Sheetz said, are some of the primary reasons for its upgrade to the Sheetz coffee offer.
"Millions of people drink coffee each day in this country and have become extremely knowledgeable about the kinds of coffee that are out there," says Louie Sheetz, executive vice president, marketing. "We recognize this and want to be able to offer our customers not only the freshest coffee, but the highest quality blends in flavors everyone can enjoy."
A leader in the industry, Sheetz began selling fresh, hot coffee over 30 years ago and in 2004 introduced Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, a full line of made-to-order espresso beverages. Sheetz Bros. Coffeez is now available at 141 Sheetz locations and plans are in place to add the line to all stores. The company operates 329 convenience locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.
