Southeastern Jobbers Merge

WEST POINT, Ga. -- Chattahoochee Oil Co., headquartered here, closed on its acquisition of Auburn, Ala.-based Wilson Oil Co., creating one of the largest full-service, multi-branded jobbers in the Southeast.

The combined company now services more than 225 retail dealers and commercial, farming and industry accounts. It distributes motor fuel and oil products on both its own trucks and by a common carrier.

Chattahoochee Oil is a branded jobber for Shell, Chevron, BP, Marathon and Sunoco, while also distributing unbranded fuel through its proprietary Big Cat, QS and Lo-Buck$ names. It is also a licensee for Liberty and Crown fuels.

"We look forward to a long and growing relationship with all the communities and people we service," Mashud Reza, chairman, and Loring F. Perez, president, of Chattahoochee Oil, stated in a news release announcing the acquisition.

The merger is planned for later this year with full integration of all systems into the new corporate headquarters, to be based in Auburn, Ala.

Chattahoochee Oil, in its news release, made a point of its respect for all ethnic groups among the dealer community and noted that within the company, 10 different languages are spoken with the dealers.
