Speedway Stores Winding Down “Speedy Random Rewards” Promotion
ENON, Ohio -- Speedway SuperAmerica conducted a variety of promotional activity through its "Speedy Rewards" loyalty program this fall after introducing Speedy Rewards debit card in August 2010, according to Instoremarketer.org.
This month, the chain is staging the "Speedy Random Rewards" sweepstakes that awards 540,000 rewards points (which can be used to buy a $500 Visa gift card) to two grand-prize winners, while a corresponding instant-win game will give away more than 1.3 million prizes, the report stated.
Sweeps entries have been triggered automatically at the point-of-sale when a Rewards card is swiped from Nov. 1-30, and the instant prizes, which also are distributed automatically at checkout, consist of coupons for free products from a number of national brands, including PepsiCo's Doritos and Mars Inc.'s M&M's, as well as the chain's foodservice menu, said Instoremarketer.org. Also, gift cards from Speedway, iTunes, Visa and undisclosed others (via gift and pre-paid card provider InComm) ranging from $10 to $25 are being given away.
In August of this year, CSNews Online reported on the company’s introduction of a PIN-based Speedy Rewards debit card. Speedway stores offered 5-cents off per gallon for the first three months for those who turned their existing loyalty cards into a debit card.
