Spinx Flips the Switch on EV Charging Stations

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Spinx Co. added Level 3 electric charging stations to seven of its South Carolina convenience stores. These chargers have the ability to charge an electric vehicle in 30 minutes.

These new Spinx charging stations are part of Nissan’s “No Charge to Charge” program, where eligible Nissan Leaf owners receive 24 months of complimentary public charging. Although the initial partnership is with Nissan, these charging stations can be used for any electric vehicle, provided the owner has their vehicle specific charging port.

Spinx hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 12 at 9.am. at its store at 901 Marue Drive in Greenville.

In addition to Marue Drive, Spinx added Level 3 chargers to these following locations:

  • 1414 E. Washington St., Greenville
  • 697 Fairview Rd., Simpsonville
  • 7495 Augusta Rd., Piedmont
  • 1504 Boiling Springs Rd., Spartanburg
  • 8001 Broad River Rd., Irmo
  • 9636 Highway 78, Ladson

Spinx first entered the fuel alternative market in 2011 by installing Level 1 and Level 2 charging stations at five c-stores. Level 1 and Level 2 stations charge electric vehicles in several hours.

Greenville-based The Spinx Co. operates more than 70 c-stores throughout South Carolina.
