Street Corner Diversifies With Four Store Types

TOPEKA, Kan. — Most convenience stores add more offerings to inside their stores. Street Corner, however, is adding more store format options.

The Topeka-based retailer is now offering four store types: Street Corner Express, the Street Corner Mall store, Street Corner Urban Superette and the Street Corner Gas Station.

Street Corner Express is an unmanned location. According to the retailer, it "combines the availability of a vending machine with the one-stop, grab-and-go selection of a convenience store." It is an ideal option for office buildings, college campuses, hotels, hospitals and military installations.

Street Corner Express works on a self-checkout kiosk system and comes equipped with video cameras and a cloud-based system for sales reports. Buildout starts at $23,000.

The Street Corner Mall store is available as a kiosk or in-line store. This option offers many benefits, according to the retailer, including reasonable costs, a built-in customer base and a safe work environment. Buildout starts at $80,000.

Street Corner describes option No. 3, the Street Corner Gas Station, as "innovative and modern." The store features a large selection of fresh grab-and-go food items, beverages and snacks. 

Franchisees can also customize the Street Corner Gas Station with several features, including a drive-thru window, order and pickup at the pump delivery system, walk-in beer cave, charging station and self-checkout kiosk. Buildout starts at $400,000.

Rounding out the different store types is the Street Corner Urban Superette. It is "an ideal solution for areas not served by conventional grocery stores," the retailer said.

The store is stocked with fresh, high-quality, grab-and-go food with several available features, including a Mediterranean bar with olives and hummus, a large selection of snacks and other market items. Other options include a walk-in beer cave and full-service deli. Buildout starts at $150,000.

Street Corner currently has franchisee-owned stores or kiosks in 19 states.
