BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Sun Capital Partners, a private investment firm based here with ownership stakes in the Village Pantry convenience chain and several restaurant chains, expanded its relationship with Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co. The companies announced the partnerships last week, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Coca-Cola fountain dispensers will be in about half of Village Pantry’s locations by the end of 2009. Village Pantry is a Midwest convenience store chain with 190 outlets.

In addition, Coca-Cola will continue to be the preferred beverage provider for Boston Market, Bruegger’s Bagels, Fazoli’s, Friendly’s, Smokey Bones Barbeque and Grill and Garden Fresh Restaurant, which includes the Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation brands. Coca-Cola will expand its relationship from 50 percent to 100 percent of these Restaurants Unlimited outlets in January 2010, according to the report.
