Tedeschi Boosts Number of Remodeled Stores to 26

ROCKLAND, Mass. -- Tedeschi Food Shops remodeled its East Falmouth and Randolph, Mass., locations, bringing the number of stores it's remodeled since 2010 to 26. These remodels are part of the convenience chain's plan to upgrade all its locations so they have an assortment of fresh, healthier food options to offer customers.

The recently renovated stores now feature a large selection of crisp salads, signature sandwiches, hearty subs and light wraps that are prepared by Tedeschi Fresh Foods, the company’s recently acquired proprietary commissary. Freshly brewed hot and iced Green Mountain coffee is also offered. These upgraded stores are brighter and easier to shop as well, thanks to an open floor plan, wider and shorter aisles, and vibrant new artwork and aesthetics, according to a company announcement.

Customer appreciation sampling events will be held at each store to introduce the Tedeschi Fresh Food sandwich line. Customers will also be treated to complimentary snacks, ice cream and an assortment of cold beverages. An event will take place this Friday at the 439 East Falmouth Highway store from 2 to 4 p.m. The store at 671 North St. in Randolph will host its event from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19.

Tedeschi Food Shops said it will continue renovating all its existing locations and bringing an increased selection of freshly prepared foods into its stores.

In an exclusive cover story in Convenience Store News' July 4 issue, Tedeschi executives said they're looking for foodservice to grow and represent 20 percent of inside-store sales within four to six years. "Offering a wide variety of healthy, delicious made-to-order items tells customers that we are serious about fresh foods," said Joe Hamza, vice president of sales and marketing. "People now view Tedeschi Food Shops as a destination for high-quality grab-and-go meals that can be complemented by standard convenience store fare, like salty snacks and assorted beverages.
