Tedeschi Takes on Grocers With New Produce Program
ROCKLAND, Mass. -- Tedeschi Food Shops Inc. is adding fresh fruits and vegetables to its convenience stores.
The retailer's produce program includes a new ordering system and a new supplier that packs the produce in smaller pack sizes. In addition, Tedeschi is working directly with a produce wholesaler and bringing in fresh produce three times a week.
The move comes after months of research and planning.
Core offerings include bananas, apples, oranges, lettuce, celery, potatoes and onions. Some of the seasonal items that will be offered are strawberries, blueberries, personal-size watermelons, cantaloupes, corn, squash and pumpkins.
Rockland, Mass.-based Tedeschi Food Shops is a family-owned and operated convenience store chain with 191 locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. It also offers proprietary brands: TD's Deli and Tedeschi Fresh Foods, Tedeschi Select and Tedeschi Fuel.
