Testing Wireless at Royal Farms
BALTIMORE, Md. ? Royal Farms Inc., operator of more than 100 convenience stores in three states, is calling on ToadNet Inc., an Internet service provider, to set up a beta test of wi-fi "hotspots," at several Royal Farms stores in the Maryland area.
Royak Farms will gauge customer response before deciding whether to pursue a broader rollout throughout, the companies said. The test will allow customers with wireless-equipped laptops, personal digital assistants (PDA) or cell phones with Internet access to check e-mail or surf the Web wirelessly from participating locations.
