Thompson Energy Acquires Perimeter Oil, Shamrock Petroleum
DALTON, Ga. -- Thompson Energy LLC, a multi-state jobber formerly known as Fast Petroleum based here, recently acquired two Atlanta area companies -- Perimeter Oil and Shamrock Petroleum.
The deal will bring approximately 100 Shell- and CITGO-branded dealers to Thompson Energy.
As part of the agreement, the dealer contracts will be managed by Thompson-Kenny LLC, a joint venture between W. L. "Tommy" Thompson, owner of Thompson Energy and PMAA director for the Georgia Oilman's Association, and Josh Kenny.
This will not be the last purchase for Thompson Energy. The company stated it is interested in additional acquisitions in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama.
Thompson markets Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, CITGO and Pac Pride branded fuels in Georgia and Tennessee, according to the company's Web site. Its predecessor, Fast Petroleum, has been in the energy industry since 1967.
