Thorntons Opens 44th Store in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Thorntons Inc. announced this week the opening of its 44th store in the Louisville metropolitan area. The grand opening took place on Dec. 16 at the new site located at 4740 Chamberlain Lane.

“Our newest store in Louisville is an important element of Thorntons’ evolution and expansion,” Matt Thornton, CEO said in a press release. “Not only does this grand opening celebrate our roots in the Louisville area, it showcases our commitment to the local economy and the one-of-a-kind service we continue to offer our loyal customers. But it doesn’t end there; this is strategic expansion of our brand as we continue to grow community by community, city by city, state by state.”

The new Thorntons will focus on foodservice with items such as fresh sandwiches, salads and fruits, plus enhanced offerings of hot beverages, premium blend coffees and fountain drinks. In addition, patrons can enjoy Thorntons "hot off the grill" convenience food items.

E85 Flex Flex Fuel will also be available at the new location.

In celebration of the grand opening, customer-appreciation promotions will occur over the next days and weeks, highlighted by free coffee and fountain beverages for everyone, buy one-get one specials and weekly door buster giveaways, the company stated.

Thorntons new location brings the company's total store count to 165, with operations in the Midwestern strongholds of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
