Town Pump Buys 67 Acres In Montana
BUTTE, Mont. -- Town Pump Inc. has purchased a 67-acre parcel of property in Belgrade, Mont., but is still considering what to do with the land, according to a report in the Billings (Mont.) Gazette.
The privately held operator of more than 70 convenience stores, Town Pump also owns a petroleum distributorship, car washes, Lucky Lil's and other casinos, and hotels, including Town House Inns, Comfort Inns and Super 8 Motels.
"We are trying to determine what is best for Belgrade and for us," Town Pump's Maureen Kenneally told the newspaper. "We have not ruled anything out; primarily we are investigating it. A project of this size takes time and study."
A combination of businesses from retail to light industrial is possible for the land, which is framed by an Albertson's store and railroad tracks.
The purchase, the site of a former Louisiana Pacific-owned lumber mill, is the largest for the corporation. Town Pump acquired the property through an auction. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Town Pump has invested heavily in its Butte, Mont., properties, according to the company. It began construction to enlarge its Main Street headquarters, bought a nearby building for storage, expanded a convenience store on Montana St. and built a storage facility near Dewey Blvd., the newspaper reported.
