Valero Contributes to Christus Children's Hospital

SAN ANTONIO -- Valero Energy Corp. donated $1.5 million to Children's Miracle Network hospitals nationwide with the help of its customers and employees, according to a report in the San Antonio Business Journal.

This is a 13 percent increase over last year, and Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital in San Antonio received more than $365,000 from that national total.

Through the annual campaign, which took place between Oct. 10, and Nov. 2, store clerks ask customers to buy Children's Miracle Network paper balloons in support of children's hospitals.

"Valero's support will help us in our continued efforts to improve the lives of the area's smallest citizens by providing the funds that will allow for continued research and top notch services for those in need of pediatric care," Marcy Doderer, vice president and administrator of Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital, said in the report.
