Valero Offers Rebate to Attract New Cardholders

SAN ANTONIO -- Customers who sign up and are approved for a Valero credit card between now and Sept. 30 can receive a 30-cent-per-gallon rebate on gasoline purchases made during the first three months their accounts are active, company officials announced today.

The new promotional offer lets new account holders use their cards at Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Shamrock and Beacon stores to receive the rebate on up to 100 gallons per month. The rebate will appear automatically on customers' monthly statements.

The promotion began July 1 and follows Valero's 'Fill Up to Fight Hunger' campaign, which donated funds from customers' fill-ups at participating stores to local food banks.

Consumers can apply for the Valero credit card online at www.valero.com/creditcard, by phone at (800) 495-3998, or through the new in-store Insta-Credit application at participating locations.
