Valero Partners with ICEE to introduce beverage program
SAN ANTONIO -- Valero Energy Corp. has partnered with The ICEE Co. to introduce a frozen carbonated beverage (FCB) program to its retail network.
About 500 of Valero's Diamond Shamrock Corner Store and Stop N Go locations in Phoenix, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio are now carrying ICEE's traditional carbonated frozen drink. Other stores throughout Valero's network will be phased into the FCB program as they are re-imaged.
"We're excited to be partnering with ICEE to offer a consistent FCB program in all of our re-imaged stores throughout the network," said Gary Arthur, senior vice president of retail and specialty products marketing for Valero. "Because of ICEE's high quality and tremendous brand recognition, it will be a great addition to our product mix. And, given the flavor selections and competitive pricing, we're confident that this beverage will be very popular with our customers."
To kick off the program, stores are offering cola and cherry flavors, as well as one additional flavor that will be rotated on a regular basis. The drinks, sold in three different sizes ranging from 16 to 32 ounces, are dispensed using self-serve, frozen beverage machines manufactured by San Antonio-based Lancer FBD.
