Wawa Rolls Out New Lower-Carb Kaiser

WAWA, Pa. -- Wawa Inc., operator of more than 540 stores in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, has introduced the Wiser Kaiser sandwich roll, with only 13 grams of net carbohydrates.

Wiser Kaiser was designed to offer customers a healthy option for all of their favorite Wawa sandwiches. The company claims that in addition to being lower in carbs, the Wiser Kaiser has less fat, fewer calories and higher fiber than a regular Kaiser roll.

"It seems like everyone's counting carbs these days," said Rob Price, senior marketing vice president for Wawa. "We're happy to provide yet another healthy choice."

Beginning Tuesday, customers could opt to make any of their Wawa sandwiches on the Wiser Kaiser for 30 cents more.

As part of its mission to simplify its customers' daily lives, Wawa continues to develop a range of healthy food options. The Wiser Kaiser joins a line of "better for you" selections from Wawa, including low-fat soups, fresh-cut fruit and a variety of green salads.
