Wilson Farms Raises $17,775 for "Check Out Hunger"

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- This week Wilson Farms announced a total of $17,775 raised for the Food Banks of Western and Central New York through the monthlong "Check Out Hunger" campaign, the company reported.

"We are able to provide these much needed funds thanks to the generosity of our customers and the support of our Wilson Farms associates, both of which continually assist us in supporting charitable programs such as ‘Check Out Hunger,'" Paul Nanula, president and CEO of Wilson Farms said in a released statement.

During the monthlong campaign, Wilson Farms customers could donate $2 to provide 11 meals to individuals, $3 for 16.5 meals or $5 for 27.5 meals. The Food Banks of Western and Central New York received 100 percent of proceeds.

Wilson Farms first supported "Check Out Hunger" in 2005. In addition to raising funds, Nanula said the campaign also raises awareness of hunger.
